Law firm Sintons raises £23,000 for the Percy Hedley Foundation

A leading law firm has raised more than £20,000 in support of a North East disability charity.
In April 2024, Sintons announced the Percy Hedley Foundation as its charity partner for a two-year period, committing to support the organisation through a wide range of fundraising initiatives.
Over the course of the partnership, Sintons team members took on an ambitious £20,000 target, participating in a variety of challenges and events. These included hosting a charity golf day, taking part in the Great North Run and completing the Lake District 10 Peaks Challenge.
Their efforts have resulted in a total of £23,000, with the funds set to make a meaningful difference to the lives of disabled children, young people and adults across the region.
The money raised will support a broad programme of enrichment activities across the Foundation’s services. These include weekly inclusive disco sessions, gardening and wellbeing activities, residential trips and visits to heritage sites.
The impact will be felt across the organisation, from pupils at Northern Counties School and Percy Hedley School, students at Hedley’s College, adults at Hedley’s Horizons and residents in supported living homes.
John Preston, chief executive of the Percy Hedley Foundation, said: “Sintons’ support of the Foundation over the last two years has been incredible.
“Every team member has come together to challenge themselves, and we are blown away by the final fundraising total.
“Their efforts will help us deliver a wide range of enriching activities across our services, ensuring that the children, young people and adults we support can continue to access opportunities that empower them to live life to the fullest.
“We are extremely grateful for their dedication to supporting the work of the Percy Hedley Foundation.”
David Pritchard, head of marketing and business development and Chair of Sintons’ CSR Committee added: “Supporting the Percy Hedley Foundation over the past two years has been an incredibly rewarding experience for everyone at Sintons.
“We knew from the start that this was a charity close to the hearts of many in the North East, but the way our colleagues rallied behind the cause exceeded all expectations.
“To have surpassed our initial targets and reached a total of over £23,000 is a testament to the dedication of our people.
“Whether it was the trainees tackling the Lake District summits or the team organising our most successful golf day to date, the energy has been unwavering.
“We are honoured to have played a small part in helping Percy Hedley continue their mission of providing world-class care and education to those who need it most.”
To mark the end of the partnership, Sintons staff visited Northern Counties School in Jesmond, where they met some of the students who will benefit directly from their fundraising efforts.
