NFS 360 Connect has donated a pallet-load of presents to struggling East Durham families this Christmas
NFS 360 Connect, based on Peterlee Industrial Estate, has rallied support throughout the business to donate a pallet worth of clothes and toys to donate to the Santa’s Wish Toy Appeal following the cost-of-living crisis.
The company, which specialises in pallet distribution and haulage up and down the country, delivered the gifts by the NFS Santa Claus this week using their truck and driver to deliver to Shotton Hall, Peterlee.
The Santa’s Wish Appeal received more than £3,000 in funding from the neighbourhood budget distributed by Durham County Council and neighbouring councils.
Managing Director Michael Banks said: “We are a family-owned company, based in Peterlee since 1999, so our sense of family values and community is very important. We wanted to get involved and improve people’s Christmas in what is the festive of goodwill. We are very proud that our core values as a business transcend to our employees in what is a very special cause. It is a special feeling to help others less fortunate. Christmas should be a magical time for all and if we help one child or family enjoy the occasion a little more this year then it makes it all worthwhile.”
The team intends to work towards helping the community more in 2024, including continuing to sponsor one of its employee’s son’s football teams, and are looking at ways they can provide to local charities.
Michael added: “We will do this 100% every year. The opportunity to help others in the community is too good to miss for us. NFS aims to do even more in 2024 so we will be engaging with others as soon as 2024 lands and make firm plans on initiatives and causes to look at.”
