AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group Awarded RACE Equality Code 2020 Quality Mark

AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious RACE Equality Code 2020 Quality Mark, recognising its commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion at all levels of the organisation.

The RACE Code, established in 2020, stands for Reporting, Action, Composition and Education. It was founded by Dr Karl George MBE, a governance consultant working in the West Midlands, to help organisations improve race equality and to tackle discrimination within the workplace. The vision of organisations who are awarded the Code is to create transformational, sustainable and lasting change, achieving a competitive and diverse board and senior leadership team.

The Code’s Accountability Framework provides a set of standards, applicable to all types and sizes of organisations. The RACE Equality Code, designed to address the underrepresentation of ethnic minorities in leadership and governance roles, is an essential framework for organisations aiming to improve race equality. By completing the rigorous assessment process, AIM Group has demonstrated its dedication to the principles and provisions of the Code.

As part of the assessment, AIM Group successfully:

  • Outlined how it will apply the main principles of the RACE Equality Code to drive diversity and equality in leadership.
  • Complied with the Code’s provisions on a “comply or explain” basis, offering detailed explanations of its progress.
  • Provided clear plans on achieving full compliance with the essential “Must” provisions, ensuring continued progress.

The RACE Equality Code Quality Mark is a significant step in AIM Group’s ongoing efforts to enhance equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) throughout its operations. The mark is a symbol of AIM’s active commitment to moving the dial on racial representation in leadership, ensuring that this focus remains a core component of a broader inclusion strategy.

Fabienne Bailey, Director for Business Growth and Transformation of AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group, said: “We are thrilled to receive the RACE Equality Code 2020 Quality Mark. This achievement is a testament to our organisation’s commitment to advancing equality and fostering an inclusive culture across our diverse team. We understand the importance of a diverse governing board and workforce, that are representative of the beneficiaries we serve. Having diversity of ‘thought’, ‘experience’ and ‘background’ strengthens the leadership and growth of our organisation and we will seek to continuously improve and be role models in this important agenda.”
