CHARITY CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF CHANGING LIVES

North East-based charity, Daisy Chain celebrated 20 years of innovative and ambitious autism and neurodiversity support services with the most successful ball in its history on Saturday 1st July at Wynyard Hall. The event raised over £60,000 and was sponsored by Darlington Building Society.

The spectacular event welcomed supporters, businesses, families, and volunteers for a night of Mardis Gras-themed celebration, fundraising and entertainment, including performances from incredible Autism’s Got Talent Roadshow 2023 performers.

Daisy Chain CEO, Neeraj Sharma said: “Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for this night of celebration, the biggest we’ve ever hosted. Demand for our services is unprecedented, particularly for complex cases and adult support.

“As funding becomes more difficult to obtain, and the cost-of-living crisis hits the whole country, support is more important than ever. Events like this help us to raise vital income, showcase the life-changing work we do, and the ripple effect that work has in the community.

“One of our aims for the next few years is to ensure we can have a greater financial commitment from the business sector so that we can continue to develop, and this is just the start. Your employee or your child may not be autistic, but this marginalised community matters, and being part of the change is everyone’s responsibility.”

Co-Founder and Chair of Trustees, Duane Hanson said: “Celebrating 20 years of service to the Tees Valley and beyond is a fantastic achievement, of which I am proud. We continue to be committed to improving the lives of our beneficiaries and I look forward to seeing what the next 20 years have in store!”

The event wouldn’t have been possible without its headline sponsor, Darlington Building Society and sponsors CF Fertilisers and Bondgate IT.

Daisy Chain is passionate about supporting autistic and neurodivergent children, young people, adults and families, with or without diagnosis, and continues to develop in line with beneficiary needs.
