Cygnet Law Shortlisted as Finalists at the Tees Businesswomen Awards

Cygnet Law has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Tees Businesswomen Awards, Training and Apprenticeships category. The predominantly female-led law firm has been recognised for its commitment to training and apprenticeships, which play a fundamental role in empowering its staff and promoting career progression.

The awards, which celebrate the achievements of women in business across the Tees Valley, will be held on Thursday, 26th September at Hardwick Hall. Cygnet Law’s nomination highlights the firm’s dedication to breaking down barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sector and its efforts to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in the legal profession.

With a workforce of 80 staff, Cygnet Law has prioritised investing in the professional development of its team. The firm supports its staff through apprenticeships such as CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) Degree apprenticeships and SQE routes, alongside other training opportunities designed to help them advance in their careers. This commitment to professional development not only benefits individual employees but also contributes to the overall success and diversity of the legal industry.

Stacey Phoenix, Director and Head of the Family Law department, commented, “We are honoured to be recognised as finalists in the Training and Apprenticeships category. This nomination is a testament to the hard work and determination of our team in promoting equality and providing opportunities for the women in our firm to excel in their careers. We believe that by investing in our staff, we can continue to challenge the status quo and make a meaningful impact in the legal sector.”

The Tees Businesswomen Awards celebrate the region’s female business leaders and female-led organisations, creating role models and inspiring the next generation. The event provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of all finalists and the positive impact they are making in their communities.
