Blonde Creative move to UKSE Innovation Centre

A successful mother-and-daughter business partnership has led to a Tees-based creative brand and content agency moving into larger premises with ambitious plans for expansion.

Blonde Creative is now established in new offices at UKSE’s Innovation Centre on the Kirkleatham Business Park at Redcar giving it the space it needs to create jobs and grow its team over the next year.

Holly Thomson and Liz Atkin have gone from strength to strength since combining their individual skill sets and extensive experience. Blonde Creative is now working with a growing number of clients helping them to transform their brand and achieve goals through their marketing content – from websites and brochures to social media and newsletters.

Clients range from finance and accounting firms to those in HR, design, e-commerce, manufacturing and property. Although firmly rooted in their Teesside home, the agency’s reputation is spreading as far afield as Switzerland and the USA with many clients coming from word-of-mouth recommendations.

“I started Blonde Creative in 2021 which wasn’t the easiest time to start up,” explained Holly who has worked in digital and website fields in London and the North East.

“It didn’t take me long to realise that demand was increasing fast and I needed to increase my capacity to grow. Luckily, I found someone with wide career experience in business improvement and very close to home as an ideal partner!  Our aim is to bring a fresh and authentic approach to the way businesses speak to their clients and customers.  We truly get to know our clients and create content and a brand voice that really shows off to the world who they are, what they do and why it matters.”

As business took off the agency won the Best Newcomer Award at the Tees Businesswomen Awards. Holly is also a TEDx speaker, basing her talk on empowering the mindset shifts that helped her to achieve her goals so far. Liz recently became a published author with Refreshing Comms -her book on internal communication for a better-connected, feel-good, goal-achieving workplace and a best seller on Amazon in three categories.

“The Innovation Centre is a great place to be, “said Holly. “We now have all the space and facilities we need to expand with the UKSE team always on hand.”

“We are Redcar and Cleveland Ambassadors because we love our hometown,” said Liz, “and we do get an extra special buzz working with local businesses. We work very well together as we bring complementary skills, experience and approaches to the business as well as different generational perspectives. We see it as our superpower!”

Sharon Turley of UKSE said: “It’s been a real pleasure to have Blonde Creative join the other 50- plus businesses based here at our Innovation Centre in Redcar. We are looking forward to playing a part in helping Holly and Liz take the agency to the next stage in its growth and wish them every success.”
